Top 4 contraception myths busted

know_your_protection_310Can you believe, few years ago there were few myths related to reproduction like pregnant women in labor were often told to put a knife under their bed to "cut the pain." Young girls were taught that menstruation was unmentionable -- a curse.

Do you know, birth control was illegal until early 1990’s? As contraceptive advance, so too have the myths contiguous their use. How much do you know about birth control types, sex myths, birth control myths, and your chances of becoming pregnant?

Following are few myths that are majorly prevalent in our society about contraception:

• It’s my first time , I cant get pregnant:

Which era are you living in? what has pregnancy to do with first time SEX? Once you have started ovulating even the first time can make you pregnant. A woman's chances for becoming pregnant are always the same, about 1 out of 20 -- even if it is her first time.
This may mean that a person can become pregnant before she even has her very first period (since she ovulates approximately 14 days before her period begins).

• Let’s have SEX during periods
Numerous women (and men) consider this myth. It is probable for a female to get pregnant at any time throughout her menstrual cycle. Commonly, when you are having your period, it means that you are not ovulating. Nonetheless, females with asymmetrical or shorter cycles can actually ovulate during their period. It is not definite that you will ovulate mid-cycle. Sperm can live inside a woman's body for up to 5 days, so if you ovulate anytime within 7 days of having unprotected sex, you could become pregnant.

• Let’s use a balloon
Now, come’ on balloon only make children happy and ‘DO NOT’ help in stopping reproduction. It does not work . Yes, this is a saga floating around out there! Saran wrap is no alternate for a condom. If you do not have a reliable birth control method handy, do not use plastic sandwich wrap around a penis as a way to prevent pregnancy: On a somewhat related note, never use toothpaste in place of a spermicidal (it does not kill sperm -- as many people have heard).
• Stand-up SEX won’t make you pregnant:

Myths adjoining the way you have sex are very common. The most regular one that I hear is that you can't get pregnant if you are standing up while having sex. On a related note, there are stories that you are less likely to get pregnant the fewer times that you have had sex. It depents on the poition but , less likely to prevent you from getting pregnant. So, the only way to protect pregnancy is to use proper protection and not believing in all these myths.
